Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has expressed his outrage over a viral video of a woman and a man who harassed nurses at Port Victoria Hospital in Busia County, claiming to be his acquaintances.
Why did the duo harass Busia nurse?
The video, which was widely circulated on social media, showed the duo throwing tantrums and insulting the hospital staff for allegedly failing to attend to a patient in the emergency ward.
The woman, who appeared to be the patient's relative, threatened to call Ababu and accused the nurses of killing people.

She also threw files on the floor and hit a table in a fit of rage.
The incident sparked public outrage and condemnation, with many calling for the arrest of the culprits.
Will Ababu Namwamba sue the two?
Ababu broke his silence over the matter and issued a statement on his Instagram account.
He said he was appalled by the actions of the two people.
He also said he did not condone such behaviour, which was against his values and commitment to public service.
He further said he was investigating the matter and would take legal action to rectify any wrongdoing.

“I want to directly address the recent discussions surrounding my name. The actions associated with me do not align with my values or commitment to public service. I unequivocally condemn any behaviour against principles of integrity.

KMPDU demands action over Busia hospital incident
In the wake of the incident, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has called for the arrest of two individuals.
KMPDU Secretary General Dr Davji Atellah condemned the incident and prevailed upon authorities to institute justice against the culprits.
“This is rudimentary, illegal, and immoral. The attitude and action by politicians and their cronies to threaten healthcare workers at their place of work should be curtailed,” he stated.
