When firefighters arrived at the scene, the house was engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, they contained the fire quickly before it caused extensive damage.

"They did a great job. I'm going to say in less than 10 minutes, we had a really good grip on this fire," District Chief Justin Barnes said.

So far, the cause of the blaze remains unknown and is under investigation.

When did Beyoncé live at the house?

The house on 2400 Rosedale Street was bought by the Knowles family in 1982 for about $64000, translating to KSh 9.9 million.

The family lived there until Beyoncé was about 5.

However, they sold the house before the singer's sister Solange was born in 1986.

Despite that, it is still considered an iconic landmark by Beyoncé's fans in Houston.

The 3,000-square-foot house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and was built in 1946. It was last sold in 2019.

The single ladies' singer was recently seen taking photos at the property during her Renaissance tour.

Further, in a previous interview on Visit Houston, Beyoncé spoke fondly of the property and Houston in general.

She said:

“Growing up in Houston was fun. We always had a huge backyard to play in. My mom allowed my friends to come over all the time; it was like a continuous slumber party at our house."
