Nelly Chepkoech was set to walk down the aisle at a colourful ceremony in Bomet County on December 9, but that would not happen.
This was after the eagerly anticipated wedding was called off just hours before the ceremony, leaving the groom, Amos, devastated.
No wedding, go home
News of the cancelled wedding went viral, with social media users accusing the would-be bride of walking out on the groom at the eleventh hour.

Since the story came out, Nelly has been at the centre of a storm, which made her come out to explain what transpired.
The heartbroken bride revealed that she also learned that the wedding had been postponed on the eve, and the decision was not hers.
"We got to the venue yesterday and were told that the wedding couldn't go on as planned because there was some paperwork missing," she said.
"I cried," Nelly says
Nelly reiterated that she was looking forward to the big day and could not have bailed out on the man of her dreams.
"We all cried when the reverend told us there was no wedding. As you can see, I am available and ready to exchange my vows," she maintained.
Her father corroborated her sentiments, insisting that he had received five cows and some little money as dowry and that his daughter was ready for the marriage.
He added that as soon as the issue was resolved, the wedding would still go on early next year, in April at the latest.

Reverend cancelled wedding
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Citizen TV's Kericho and Bomet counties correspondent, Festus Kirui, who first interviewed Nelly, rubbished claims she had called off her wedding.
He accused the couple's church's reverend of cancelling the wedding and barring Amos from speaking to the media.
"The reverend who was to officiate the ceremony cancelled the wedding the last minute. Amos was Nelly's dad's friend, and he had even paid dowry ready to get married, but things changed the last minute," he said.
Kirui said he found the heartbroken Nelly at her Mogonjet village, with hundreds of guests ready to go to the wedding stranded after the sad news.
Bloggers are lying
Details indicate that the pair had been dating for six months before deciding to make it official through a wedding.
Nelly called out social media users for spreading false allegations that she had wasted the groom's time by cancelling the wedding.
"I am eagerly waiting for the new date that will be set, and I'll gladly go to that venue in my gown and have my wedding," she said.
As of the time of filing this story, the bride and groom were waiting for the reverend to offer direction on the new date.
