Martin, the only child of the news presenter, will share the documentary in support of Catherine Kasavuli's foundation. Additionally, Martin highlighted a month-long focus on fundraising for sick, needy children.

“Been feeling unwell, doctor and someone close advised me to take some rest, so I’m currently trying to do that, but man’s gotta hustle…I shot a small documentary on mom, it being her anniversary month, so yeah, there’s that that I’ll be sharing soon in support of her foundation," he said.

Maryin says mum was a gift from God

“Catherine, whenever I am missing you, I also remember how fortunate I was that you were in my life. I wouldn’t trade those moments for the world. You were precious, a gift from God, possessing an abundance of beauty, grace, love, and patience," he said about his mum.

Martin also revealed that his mum touched his heart in many ways, and even in his dark days, she made him realise he had an angel by his side.

"I'm still learning how to navigate life without you. Mama, I miss you," he said.

Lady asks Kasavuli's mum to give her Martin

In another story, a news anchor on the KBC English Service's Sundowner program boldly asked the late Catherine Kasavuli's mum to 'give' her Martin to marry her.

Rose Were, who also works for the National Cohesion and Integration Commission, worked with Martin at Radio Africa, with the former being head of news in radio while the latter worked for the TV side.

She tickled mourners in Zululu village when she asked Mama Rachael to sanction her marriage to Martin since they were already friends.
