The family of filmmaker and content creator Abel Mutua is in grief after the sudden demise of his younger brother Raphael Mbuvi Musyoka, who passed away on December 28, 2023.
Abel took to social media to share the heartbreaking news of his brother’s death.

He posted a photo of a truck carrying his brother’s coffin and wrote a touching message, expressing his pain and sorrow.

"In this truck lies the lifeless body of a once vibrant young man whose life has been tragically cut short at the tender age of 23. Rest in Peace my brother; we tried our best, but I guess our best wasn’t good enough. Round two breathe," he wrote.
Raphael Mbuvi's final day
Raphael was laid to rest on Friday, January 5, 2024, in a solemn ceremony that was held in Machakos county.
The funeral service took place at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, where Abel and his family were joined by their friends and colleagues to bid farewell to their beloved one.
Most of the mourners wore black outfits as they consoled each other and paid their tributes to Raphael.

Why did Abel Mutua face backlash after brother's death?
As we previously told you, the content creator stirred mixed reactions when he asked his fans to support his family financially to aid in his brother's funeral.
He wrote:
"Till we meet again little bro. Can’t believe all that football talent will never be appreciated."
Some netizens took to the X app to criticise the act, with some noting that if Raphael did not have a huge hospital bill, the celebrity should not be asking his fans for a fundraiser.
Others noted that they would stand by Mutua and his family as they loved him.
