Residents living in Kakamega have been treated to a new level of shopping after Naivas introduced the first escalator in the area, leaving many enjoying it for the first time.
Kakamega locals's experience with escalator
In a viral video that has been doing rounds on social media, the residents could be seen running to the escalator in huge numbers to give it a trial.
One TikToker using the handle @mednaadams marvelled at how people were enjoying themselves and filling the escalator just to go up and down because the majority had never seen something like it.

He shared the video showing the supermarket staff and the locals rushing to go up while some trying to run out of it as soon as it got to the ground floor.
