In a video published by Citizen TV, the teachers and other stakeholders at the institution could be seen singing and dancing as they celebrated their candidates, who had done them proud.
Sunshine Secondary School principal Sally Kiprop Chetallam was overwhelmed with joy as she addressed the press about the developments at the institution.
How Sunshine Schools performed in 2023 KCSE
She disclosed that the institution located along Lang’ata Road in Kenya's capital had registered 231 candidates for the national examinations.
"So far, we have recorded 20 A plain grades. We also have over 43 A-minus grades," she said, explaining that they were still downloading more results from the official website as directed by the government.
According to Kiprop, the school had also recorded a strong A of 84 points, which meant their candidate would be among the best of the best across the country.
Sunshine School Secondary's best KCSE performers
"We have one of the best students in the country. Our candidate, Prince Samba, has 84 points, a strong A," the principal added.
Like many other teachers and parents, Kiprop said that the website they downloaded the results from was jammed and taking too long to relay feedback.
"The system was jammed, but we were able to navigate gradually," she explained.
The principal said the 2023 KCSE candidates were the most excellent batch of students the institution had had in a long time. She lauded the teachers for their unwavering support and sacrifices in preparing the learners.
"The 2023 group was our most excellent lot of candidates. They were very disciplined and unique in their way. The teachers put in more effort by waking up early and preparing the candidates well," added Kiprop.
The school group hit the headlines recently after announcing that it was investing KSh 50 million in establishing a new primary school unit.
