A Kenyan man has been left scarred after discovering that a house he recently moved into is infested with bedbugs.
How did man discover bedbugs in house?
Sharing the ordeal on Reddit, the man said he hurriedly relocated into the house after the tenant moved out.
A mistake he now says cost him the opportunity to inspect the house properly for bedbug infestation.

He narrated that all was well, but, after a few weeks, he started noticing bite marks on his hands. He shrugged them off as mosquito bites but got the shock of his life when he discovered that the real culprits were bedbugs.
"The bite marks became excess and I Googled.”
Alarmed, he threw out all his bedding and thoroughly washed the rest. He hoped to have cleared the infestation come New Year 2024.
However, upon returning to the home after the festivities, he got the shock of his life. The bedbugs had doubled in population, denying him sleep.
Dumbfounded and lost about what to do next, he asked for help from his followers.
“I am unable to sleep. I can’t afford a new bed and mattress. I cannot afford insecticides let alone a fumigator.”
Netizens offered a myriad of solutions including:
Tibabutimamu:
"Look fordiatomaceous earth. It is the permanent solution to bedbugs."
Leading-Leopard-4979:
"Warm water and kungunil is all you need to take care of those pesky bedbugs."
Still_Lavishness_801:
“They once attacked me at night.”
Roabber: "
As a pest control technician, the problem with the chemicals you use is not that they don’t kill bedbugs. The issue is in their eggs- there is no known chemical that kills eggs. The eggs hatch and your problem starts all over again.”
What to look for before moving houses
As Tuko.co.ke previously explained in an article on things to consider before moving into an apartment, a tenant can avoid this pitfall.
This is by making due diligence when moving houses such as conducting a physical inspection of the property.
One of the key considerations is availability of water.
