Marriage is difficult, as every action and word must be calculated with the other party in mind to avoid potential misunderstandings.
Conference speaker K.N Jacob has advised men to involve their wives before making some decisions.
He shared a story where a married man was given silent treatment for helping out a single lady in their neighbourhood.
Involve your wife in helping, Jacob
The single lady was moving out, and the married man gave a helping hand but landed him in trouble with his wife.

"Who is this single lady to you? Are you her dad, brother or husband? How excited would you be if your wife was helping a single man next door with cooking, laundry and cleaning up his house?
Your wife is not a mad woman. She’s not angry because of your kindness to a neighbour. If you truly wanted to help without strings attached, you could have involved your wife before helping," Jacob responded to the man seeking his advice.
What married men should stop doing
Pastor Jacob also noted the single woman should have consulted the man's wife instead of going to the man directly.
The man said he had no secret motives with the single woman and was helping out innocently and did not think it would cause a rift.
"It doesn’t matter what you think - or what other people think - if your wife does not like it, stop it," Jacob concluded.
Social media reactions
The post went viral, drawing the attention of social media users, with some airing their views on the issue.
Victor Hezekiah:
"A woman who wants to control you will find every excuse to do it and will not stop as long as you allow her."
Enrique K. Erickson:
"The man did nothing wrong. If helping someone out makes you feel jealous, that's your problem."
Chinenye Kaycee Bliss Chiñanti:
"Thank you for being truthful."
Karbuali Joel-Author:
"I don't think I needed permission from anyone, my wife included, to help someone in such a little thing."
Can you marry single mum?
Earlier, he criticised men shunning single mums when considering marriage partners.
He highlighted three stigmas that single mothers faced, which men used to disqualify them from being potential wives.
The man of God nullified the stigmas, adding single mothers were also looking for true love and were not looking to trap anyone.
