Top-sold phone brands in Kenya

According to a report by StatCounter, a web traffic analysis website that has been collecting global statistics since 1999, here are the most sold mobile phone brands from November 2022 to November 2023.

Among the top five brands, Samsung had a share of 21.27%, Tecno 18.31%, Oppo 9.79%, Infinix 9.31%, and Nokia 8.22%, while other brands shared the remaining market share.

Other popular brands in Kenya were Huawei, Xiaomi, and Itel.

Ruto unveils Kenya's first KSh 7k smartphone

In other related news on TUKO.co.ke, Kenya opened its first-ever smartphone assembly plant in Athi River, Mavoko, Machakos County.

President William Ruto launched the plant, dubbed East Africa Device Assembly Kenya Limited (EADAK), on Monday, October 30.

"The three million devices that will be produced here will be 30% cheaper than if we had imported them as complete units. We have agreed with stakeholders that this phone will retail at about KSh 7,500," said Ruto.
