Ashley broke the news to the departed baby and explained that he is not in a relationship with the mother of his unborn son.
The media personality disclosed that he and the pregnant woman have been friends since he was 18.
"The first thing I did was go down to Azaylia’s resting place to talk to her about it," he said.
Heart and soul
Ashley noted that the moment played a massive part in making him feel optimistic about it.
"I feel like she was the main person I needed to speak to and get this thing off my chest," Ashley told the media.
He added that after visiting her grave, he had a feeling in his "heart and soul" that his late daughter was happy for him.
In his words, Azaylia "was happy that she had a little brother, and it is now just someone else for her to watch over and protect in this world."
Getting new baby was difficult
Initially, Ashely admitted that it was not easy to conjure the thought of having another baby after Azaylia's tragic death.
This was compounded by the fact that he had split up with the baby's mother, ex-girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee.
The pair parted ways a year after the death of their daughter but jointly run The Azaylia Foundation, which exists to support families with children in need of cancer treatment.
Ashley admitted that he felt guilt about the idea of holding his newborn son next month while he wasn't able to have Azaylia.
He plans to take his son to Azaylia's resting place when he is old enough.
Graduate visits dad's grave to celebrate with him
Elsewhere, a woman who recently graduated from the university figured the celebration would not be complete without her visiting her dad.
Towela Towie Ngwira shared photos of herself in the cemetery, standing beside her father's resting place with her graduation cap on top of the tombstone.
"Hey, papa. Your princess did it. I hope I made you proud. I love and miss you so much," she captioned the photos.
