Korir Oliver from Elgeyo Marakwet county is over the moon after finally graduating from the Rift Valley Institute of Technology.

Korir comes from bandit-ridden Elgeyo Marakwet county

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Korir revealed that he comes from a humble background and that his parents are just trying to make ends meet.

"I hail from Marakwet; it's a hardship zone with bandits all over. I started hawking smokies and eggs to sustain myself in school," said Korir who studied Plumbing Technology at the institution.

Korir starts business with KSh 15,000

Korir revealed that he started the business with KSh 15,000, and that included the smokies and eggs for the business.

At the moment, Korir is still selling eggs and smokies at the institution. He believes that it will not be long before he gets a good job.

"I am looking for a job or any other opportunities that may come my way," he said.
"Life is so simple you have to work hard and focus head for better things," he added.

Fresh graduate walks home alone after ceremony

December 2023 was full of graduations, and many people celebrated with all the pomp and glamour alongside their families.

Netizens were touched by a graduate who walked on foot all alone in his flowing graduation gown.

It was a touching moment for many, with some sharing similar stories of how they celebrated their milestones all alone.
