Pastor Ezekiel Odero has extended a heartfelt gesture to families in Tanzania grappling with the aftermath of floods caused by heavy rainfall.
What has Pastor Ezekiel contributed?
The clergyman donated construction materials, such as timber and iron sheets valued at KSh 11 million, to the Tanzanian government, intended to support the construction of homes for affected families in the Hanang district, Manyara.

"We made the contributions because of the president as a way of expressing your sympathy. We will hand it over to the Tanzanian government through Madam DC. The contribution includes five trailers of timber. The contributions have cost us KSh 11 million which is TSh 158 million, according to the exchange rates," said Pastor Ezekiel.
According to Habariclouds, the compassionate televangelist pledged assistance in establishing both a dispensary and a school in the coming months.
"The donated iron sheets will be utilised for the construction of the dispensary because there is importance in prioritising a medical facility. We continue to express a hopeful prayer for divine guidance in realising the vision of establishing a school," he added.
Tanzanian government overjoyed
Janet Mayanja reported that the Hanang district commissioner expressed gratitude for Pastor Ezekiel's benevolent efforts, stating that the government had secured a site for constructing shelters for flood victims.
She disclosed that President Samia Suluhu's administration had been actively providing essentials to those affected by floods.
However, with the involvement of the New Life Prayer Centre and other Tanzanian clergy, the efforts would include constructing homes for the victims.
"On behalf of President Samia Suluhu, I extend our thanks for Pastor Ezekiel's donation of items worth KSh 11 million, earmarked for building houses for the flood-affected families. Additionally, I appreciate the clergy's on-site assessment of the flood's impact due to heavy rains," remarked Mayanja.
Pastor Ezekiel donates food items to El Nino victims
On the 2023 Christmas Day, the preacher gave out food items worth KSh 10 million to Tana River victims affected by floods as a result of El Nino rains.
He said the county governments cannot be blamed for not adequately putting measures in place to mitigate the effects of the heavy downpours, as the rains came after budgets were set.
"Truth be told, sometimes we blame the county and national governments for the floods but they had already done their budgets before the floods came," said the preacher.
