Luo singer and music producer Wuod Fibi's new year turned from celebration to nightmare when his 16-year-old daughter, Upendo Gladwell Ochieng, went missing after attending a church service.
How did Wuod Fibi's daughter go missing?
With a desperate plea on Facebook, Wuod Fibi reached out to Kenyans, hoping for any information on Upendo's whereabouts.
"My daughter Upendo Gladwell Ochieng is a 16-year-old who left the house on December 31, 2023, to attend end end-of-year crossover church service at the Holy Trinity Church in Buruburu and since then she has never been seen. Her phone has since gone off and she is not reachable. Last communication with her she sounded distressed and didn't know where she was and how she got there," he said.

Kenyans rallied behind the singer, sharing his post far and wide, offering prayers, and joining the search.
And in just a few hours, Upendo was found.
How did Wuod Fibi react after finding missing daughter?
Overwhelmed with emotion, Fibi shared the joyous news on Facebook, tears giving way to cheers as he expressed gratitude to all who helped.
"We have found her. I am overwhelmed with joy concerning the love you have shown us. My friends at the DCI, my fans, Kayole police, Burubruru police, Missing Child Foundation Kenya, our Kenyan bloggers, our local radio stations and each one of you who prayed with us and spread the word around, Thank you so much. We will come back to thank you in a special way," he said.
Woman inconsolable after missing son is found dead
A week ago, TUKO.co.ke reported that Nancy Sifuna and her husband were mourning their toddler son, who was found dead four days after going missing.
Four-year-old Brandon Maliba was last seen on December 20, playing with his friends near their home in Tuala.
In her bid to trace him, his horrified mother uploaded his photos on social media, seeking help from Kenyans to help locate him.
The frantic search for a young Brandon ended in horror, as his decaying body was found inside a garbage pit on December 24.
