The youngster says he felt left out because the singer had dished out several other items, but he didn't get any, so he opted to grab the cap.
He claimed that as soon as he grabbed Diamond's cap, an intense sensation overcame him, causing his entire body to shake uncontrollably.
“Mwili ulisisimka, ukakufa ganzi. Nilitetemeka nikawa hata sijielewi (my body trembled, then it became numb. I was shaking so vigorously I couldn't understand what was happening)” he said.
He was apprehended by the songwriter's security personnel shortly afterwards and forced to give back the cap, but the memory remains etched in his mind.
According to him, he has been feeling superior since the incident, yet those around him assume he is still the usual fellow they knew back then.
Diamond gave out free caps
His sentiments come days after social media users accused Diamond of throwing tantrums over the cap because it has juju.
Many believe that an artiste with the financial success he enjoys would easily let go of the stolen item and get a replacement.
However, the star sent his security team to ensure they returned the exact cap, insisting it had to be found because it matched each outfit.
In the days following the theft, Diamond gave out several caps to his fans to show his appreciation for their support.
He also explained that he whined when the green one was grabbed from his head because he felt disrespected.
“People were surprised why I followed up on the cap because when someone steals from you, that shows they do not respect you. I appreciate that you have supported me, but if you want something from me, ask, and I will give you,” he said.
