Tragedy struck when a man preparing to wed his fiancée this coming Saturday, December 9, at St Luke Ntinda in Kampala died shortly after his introduction ceremony.

Kenneth Twesigye and his best man were returning from the introduction ceremony when they were involved in an accident at Kahunga Trading Centre.

Wedding was 5 days away

According to Daily Monitor, the groom was an engineer with the National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Jinja and a resident of Rweikiniro Sub-county in Ntungamo.

Rwizi Police region spokesperson confirmed that the crash claimed the bridegroom and his best man, a fellow engineer named Moses Manirakiza.

"The 31-year-old was due to exchange marriage vows with his wife, Ms Prize Patience, a resident of Kyatoko, Eastern division," reads part of the report.

Reports indicate that the Subaru Forester, driven by Manirakiza, was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Hiace.

Wedding full of engineers

Friends and relatives who attended the giveaway ceremony revealed that it had been a unique event, given that the groom, his father, bride, and best man were all engineers.

The vibrant atmosphere surrounding the introduction ceremony quickly turned sombre as the news of the accident spread.

"It was a terrible moment to hear such bad news just minutes after they were here celebrating and enjoying," the bride's father Fred Kabagambe said, as reported by New Vision.

Plans for the upcoming grand wedding have been replaced with mourning and funeral arrangements.

Before deciding to solemnise their union, the couple had been cohabiting and were blessed with twins.

Bride-to-be buried on her wedding day

In Tanzania, Aman Mollel could not hold back his tears when he was handed the engagement ring he had given fiancée Rehema Chao.

Sadly, the bride-to-be did not make it to the wedding as she died in a road accident during wedding preparations.

Rehema died just four days after attending her sendoff ceremony in Morogoro, where she worked as a secondary school teacher.

She was buried on December 2, the same day the wedding was meant to happen.
