Uganda - A mighty man of God has shared a hilarious experience before he found his spiritual path.

Being in love with young girl

When pastor Martin Ssempa was a young man, he was not immune to the challenges of the young people.

He recalled being in love with a girl and going the extra mile to win her over, hoping to make her his girlfriend.

"I attended Bible study with the sole intention of pursuing a particular girlfriend, as my focus was not on Jesus but on the girl herself," the talented singer hilariously told NTV Uganda.

Finding spiritual calling

Ssempa noted his selfish efforts and ambitions did not bear fruit, as the operation to win the girl over backfired.

However, there was a new journey that he embarked on despite failing on the mission, which was initiated by his fallen nature.

"I did not succeed in winning her over, but unexpectedly, I found myself embracing a new beginning through a spiritual rebirth," he shared.

Opening Makerere Community Church

Since then, Ssempa, the 55-year-old Ugandan activist, has never looked back as he went on to open Makerere Community Church.

The quinquagenarian also shed light on his spiritual journey, saying most people did not expect pastors to be humorous.

"Some people believe you can't be humorous if you're a man of God, like myself. However, I am many things, such as a heritage conservationist, an HIV fighter, a scholar, and even a singer. People expect pastors to be reserved. However, we can, too, be anything," he shared.

Still in Uganda, a man recounted introducing his wife to a pastor as his lover despite having not talked before.

In a serendipitous tale that could only be described as heaven-sent, Joseph Muleni and Mary Amenya, devout church members, celebrated their union in matrimony.

Borrowing Bible

The couple's journey, from a borrowed Bible to the wedding altar, unfolded with unwavering faith, love, and determination.

Joseph, a church translator, and Mary, a choir leader, first encountered each other in the sacred halls of their church.

“I befriended her, and I borrowed her small Bible to use during a church service," Joseph recalled, as reported by Daily Monitor.
