A video of Nyandarua senator Methu Muhia crying profusely during his father's burial has emerged.

Death is cruel, and for the Nyandarua senator, it was a tough time when death came knocking on his door.

The politician announced the loss of his father on social media in December 2023, leaving Kenyans consoling him.

Death is painful and cruel. The pain of losing a parent is immeasurable. My dad rested this morning," the senator wrote on Facebook.

Senator Methu buries dad

The burial of the politician's dad was held on January 1, and President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua were present.

In an emerged video from the burial, senator Methu was spotted all emotional as his dad's body was lowered to the ground.

The politician was paying his last respects and got emotional as he threw soil into the ground. He nearly collapsed as he cried profusely.

Nominated senator Karen Nyamu attended the burial of Methu's dad.

She relayed her condolences and noted that she loved Nyandarua as Samidoh was from the county.

"Senator Methu you are also my senator because I have very strong ties with this county. you know Samidoh is from here, and he is right here. Even on Christmas, I was here, we ate here. I might not have met the late but we have seen the fruits of his labour from his children, particularly my friend Methu and I think I have an idea of the kind of man he was. Maybe he didn't take things too seriously just like his son Methu likes to joke all the time. I am not sure but I can just imagine because of Methu."
