At the September 9 “Glowtime” event, Apple has unveiled the Watch Series 10, its next range of watchOS devices. The new watch has a few promising new features and some improvements here and there over the Series 9. So, here’s everything you need to know about the Apple Watch Series 10.

The most notable of the changes comes in the form of the new and larger displays. The Watch Series 10 comes with 30% bigger screens (~ 45mm and 49mm) Wide-Angle OLED displays. It’s a bump from the 41mm and 49mm units on its predecessor. This way, the larger variant is almost the same size as the company’s Watch Ultra lineup. The new panels are also 40% brighter than last year’s models.

However, the bigger displays don’t change the underlying designs dramatically. To keep the form factor similar, Apple has reduced the thickness without changing any other elements. Apple says the Series 10 is 10% thinner than its predecessor and measures just 9.6mm in thickness. The company has added two exclusive watch faces – Reflections and Regatta as a way to showcase the larger displays.

Moving on, the Watch Series 10 equips the Apple S10 SoC with a 4-core Neural Engine. The latter will help improve voice capture for calls and for live translation. Internally, Apple has upgraded the speaker unit for audio playback, so you can listen to music directly on the watch without connecting to AirPods or external speakers.

The Series 10 comes running watchOS 11, but there are a couple of features that it equips exclusively. First up, there’s a new Sleep Apnea Detection that monitors the user’s breathing patterns during sleep using blood oxygen saturation to figure out if they need to consult a physician.

Series 10 comes with 18 hours of battery life. It gets a new charging coil that’s larger and offers fast charging support. You can charge the watch from 0-80% in just 30 minutes. The display comes with Onyx glass protection, while there’s a metal back panel for better connectivity. There’s a titanium model that replaces the existing stainless steel models of previous generations.

Other than that, the Watch Series 10 gets a depth sensor for high-speed water activities like snorkeling and surfing. You get the rest of the existing features like Temperature sensing, Fall Detection, Crash Detection, and Emergency SOS as well.

Coming to the price, the base GPS-only version of the Watch Series 10 will start at $399. It will be available in Gold, Natural, and Slate Gray colorways and will be available for purchase from September 20.
