The Surprising Revelation Of Franky's Father In One Piece

In One Piece, the parents of most Straw Hat Pirates were revealed in their respective backstories. If you remember, the only members whose parents Oda sensei has yet to talk about are Franky, Nami, Jinbe, and Brook. Well, we might finally have some information on one of the members in the cards. A new set of One Piece Vivre cards has been released this month, and it includes a character we met in Wano Country. But what’s more surprising is that he could be the long-lost father of our Iron Man, Franky. Curious? Let’s find out who is Franky’s father in One Piece.

Queen is Said to Be Franky’s Father in One Piece

We were introduced to Queen the Plague, the left-hand man of Kaidou in the Wano Country arc. He was previously known as Scien and used to be a member of the MADS scientific institute run by Dr. Vegapunk before he joined the Beast Pirates. This background sets the stage for some exciting revelations about Franky's lineage.

We’ve already learned that Queen made cybernetic modifications in his body to become a Cyborg similar to Franky from the Straw Hat Pirates. Now, Queen’s life story was shared in a recent Vivre card, and it gave away a major piece of information. It turns out that when Queen was part of the MADS institute, he had a son with an undisclosed character around 36 years ago. This detail raises many questions about Franky's past and his connection with Queen.

As the story unfolds, we find out that 10 years after having his son, Queen ditched him to board the Beast Pirates ship. For fans, this revelation connects the dots regarding Franky's mysterious parentage. Franky, who was known as Cutty Flam, was thrown into the ocean by his own pirate parents when he was just 10 years old, making him currently 36 years old after the time skip. Are you starting to connect the dots now?

The correlation between these two facts is blowing the One Piece community’s mind and can’t be so easily brushed off. The latest Vivre card has confirmed that the Beast Pirates member Queen is the father of Franky in One Piece. This connection is significant because both characters are cyborgs, and Oda has foreshadowed this link from the beginning.

As this information surfaced online, fans pointed out the cover images of volumes 39 and 93 featuring Franky and Queen in identical poses. This artistic choice by Oda seems to hint at a deeper relationship between the two characters. Additionally, we have two Straw Hats crewmates whose parents were a part of the MADS institute, namely Queen and Vinsmoke Judge (Sanji’s father). Just like Judge, Queen was also a terrible father to Franky. Thankfully, Tom rescued Franky and stepped up to become a great father figure to him.

I wish this twist was revealed directly in the story during the Wano Country arc (one of the best arcs in One Piece) instead of coming out as an afterthought in the Vivre cards. Since the Wano arc is over and Queen’s whereabouts are unknown, we can’t say for sure if Franky will get to meet his biological father in One Piece.
