As you play Once Human and introduce friends to the game, you may occasionally encounter situations where you spawn in different worlds.
Swapping servers can solve this situation, but doing so is more challenging than pressing a quick world switch button. Here’s how to change worlds in Once Human.
How to change worlds in Once Human
There are three ways to change worlds in Once Human:
- Locate a teleportation tower and change to another world.
- Teleport to a hive member’s house in another world.
- Create a new character on a different game server.
Finding a teleportation tower is the easiest way to change servers without losing progress. However, if you’re new to Once Human and are okay with losing a few minutes of progress, you can quickly head to the main menu, pick a new server, and start fresh on another character.
Changing worlds without making a new character requires finding a teleportation tower. After locating and interacting with a tower, you will spot a “change to another world” option. This option gives you a list of servers, allowing you to freely change worlds without creating a new character or losing your items.
How to find Teleportation Towers in Once Human
You’ll find teleportation towers after completing the tutorial questline and entering the game’s open world for the first time. Upon entering the open world, open your in-game map and select the nearest settlement, opening its details to see what services are available. Typically, the teleportation tower appears at the top of the list if there’s one present.
Once you find a settlement with a teleportation tower, follow any roads or paths leading to it. The tower appears as a small structure that, upon interacting with it, sends a beam into the air, making it easier to spot in the future. The first one I found was in Deadsville at coordinates (6006, -5524), but others are available as you explore the world.
How to change worlds by using a hive member’s house
You can also teleport to someone else’s house, as long as they’re in your hive. If they live in a different world than you, this is a great way to change worlds in Once Human. Simply open your map and look for a hive member’s house.
The house icon will be grey if they’re in a different world. The world they’re in will show up when you over the house. Now simply hold the F key to teleport and change to the world specified.
How to join a new server in Once Human
Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to create a new character if you’re new to Once Human and want to swap to a different server immediately:
- Open your main menu
- Select Exit Game
- Pick Re-login
- Choose a new server on the login menu
Once you arrive on the main menu screen, you can pick another server to join. However, swapping servers this way requires creating a new character, meaning you’ll have to start fresh. After making a new character, you’ll go through the tutorial as usual, arriving in the open world again.
Doing this is particularly helpful if you cannot log into your old server and still want to play without waiting for a spot to open. In a way, you can consider a second or third character as a backup plan.
These two strategies are the only way to change servers. Confirming your server early is the way to go, especially if you’re playing with friends and coordinating where to begin. Fortunately, if you do need to change worlds, a quick trip to the nearest teleporter or swapping to another character are your two options.
