Floating on Fire is one of the challenges available at the Slumber Dojo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It’s surprisingly difficult, because the enemies are varied and spread out, but here’s how to get it done.
Floating on Fire only becomes available to take on after you’ve completed two of the three Rifts which emerge as part of the Land of the Goddesses main quest.
How to complete Floating on Fire at the Slumber Dojo
Time limit: 2 minutes and 10 seconds
Additional rules: No access to Potions or Smoothies
Rewards:
- 3 Monster Stone (clear within 2 minutes and 10 seconds)
- + 7 Rocktato (clear within 1 minute and 30 seconds)
Floating on Fire will pit you against a selection of fiery Echoes, which are spread around a lava filled room with only a small number of islands and Lava Stones to stand on. It’s particularly difficult to complete quickly, as the enemies are spread out and each requires a different technique to kill.
The enemies you’ll need to take out during Floating on Fire are:
- 3 Fire Keese
- 3 Mini-Moldorm
- 2 Tweelus
- 2 Zirro
- 1 Torch Slug
The first thing you need to do is make sure that you have a powerful ranged Echo selected. You can use Wizzrobes for this, but I opted for Boomerang Boarblin Lv. 2, as I could summon two of them and do double damage.
A lot of this will vary depending on how well your Echoes perform. If they’re summoned towards the north edge of the main island, they can take out the Mini-Moldorm on the northern wall of the cavern, but that doesn’t always happen.
Summon them on the main island and then use your Bind ability to drag the two Tweelus out of the lava and onto the ground so that your Echoes can attack them.
With them out of the way, hop onto the Lava Rock at the top of the main island and use your Bind ability to latch on to the Mini-Moldorm on the platform on the northern wall of the cavern, then drag it into the lava. This will kill it instantly.
Quickly make your way south and do the same with the Mini-Moldorm and Torch Slug on the small islands to the south of the main island, which will also die instantly as soon as they’re in the lava. Continue south and do the same with the third Mini-Moldorm.
Keep summoning your ranged Echoes to do some damage to the remaining enemies, which are flying around the area. Let them keep going while you enter Swordfighter Form, then target each enemy and use the Mighty Bow to do ranged damage. This is particularly useful with the two Zirro, which don’t come close enough for many Echoes to do even ranged damage to.
This can be a little tricky as the flying enemies are fast moving and you’ll need to run around to make sure you’ve got everyone, but as soon as you kill the final enemy, you’ll complete the challenge. If you’ve done all of the Slumber Dojo challenges until this point, you’ll get the Heirloom Katana as a reward.
