When traveling around Disney Dreamlight Valley, you likely think of running, gliding, and Wishing Wells as fast travel spots. However, as of the Jungle Getaway update, you can now equip wings and fly around. However, there are some limits to this feature.
How to glide and fly in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Flying in Disney Dreamlight Valley requires having wings equipped in your glider menu. You can access this by entering your Wardrobe, scrolling down to Gliders, and picking any wings you have unlocked. From here, gliding and flying have the same controls despite being two different animations.
Below are the controls for gliding and flying in Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- PC: Hold Shift
- Xbox: Hold B
- PlayStation: Hold the square button
If you have the default Dreamlight Glitter, surfboard, or other ground items as your glider, you’ll activate the usual animation when you press these buttons. However, using wings, such as Maleficent, Raven, or even Cardboard wings, will cause your character to fly instead. Although your speed and height won’t change significantly, it’s a neat feature.
How to get wings in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The three main ways to get wings in Disney Dreamlight Valley are to complete story quests, redeem Star Path rewards, and purchase some from the Premium Shop. Although you won’t pick up many during the main story, a few quests feature wings as back accessories and gliders, with the main example being the Cardboard Wings you get during the Dark Castle mission.
Outside of this, Star Path rewards and Premium Shop items are your go-to source of wings. While Star Path events have free items available, you’ll have to upgrade to premium using Moonstones to access its full list.
Below are some examples of wings that appeared as Star Path rewards:
- Maleficent Wings
- Raven Wings
- The Wings of Winter
The in-game store works the same, requiring you to use Moonstones to purchase items. Although Moonstones are a currency that costs real money, you can also obtain some by opening blue chests or claiming them as a Star Path prize.
The last method only works for one wing type: Thorny Wings. You unlock Thorny Wings by reaching player level 38, giving you a way to get them for free without spending any Moonstones.
