How To Get The Blastwave Striders Exotic Leg Armor In Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Blastwave Striders

While the new Alethonym grenade launcher has been one of the highlights of Destiny 2’s Episode: Revenant, it isn’t the only exotic to arrive in this episode. A handful of other exotics that bring a lot to the table for certain builds have been added, too.

One such exotic for Titans is great for those who enjoy playing around Stasis, especially with this season’s artifact mods. How you get it can be a little confusing, though. Here’s how to get the Blastwave Striders in Destiny 2.

The easiest way to get the Blastwave Striders is through Master Rahool’s Focused Decoding system. However, to unlock this you’ll need to have reached Rank 16 with him this episode and reset your rank. Once you’ve done this, speak to him and open his Engram Focusing menu, denoted by the picture of an Exotic Engram.

Head to the third page of this menu, where you’ll see a ton of different exotic armors, including the Blastwave Striders (if you’re playing on Titan, that is). To get it, you’ll need one Exotic Cipher and one Exotic Engram. The Exotic Engram can be gotten as a random drop or as a weekly reward for completing strikes. Otherwise, you can claim a free Exotic Cipher each week by speaking to Xur and accepting his Xenology quest. This requires you to do a bunch of strikes but will reward that Exotic Cipher. Once you have that, simply return to Rahool and claim your Blastwave Striders.

Are the Blastwave Striders worth using?

The Blastwave Striders’ intrinsic trait, aptly named Blastwave Striders, gives you resistance to your explosives. Defeating enemies with these equipped builds a charge that, once maxed, lets you rocket jump backward and launch Stasis crystals when either sliding or dealing explosive self-damage. This also grants you Frost Armor. Overall, it’s a decent exotic but has some rather niche applications. It also requires running some explosive weapon to get the full effect. You should only run it if you have a build tailored specifically for it—otherwise, other exotics will give you far more value.
