Nairobi - The African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) has announced vacancies for Kenyans in their upcoming project.

In an advertisement on its website, APHRC said they were seeking to recruit Quantitative Field Interviewers to support data collection for an upcoming study.

"The APHRC invites applications for Quantitative Field Interviewers in its Kenya Abortion Study. This is a national survey to estimate the incidence of abortion and the severity of abortion-related complications in Kenya. We seek to recruit highly qualified and experienced field interviewers to support data collection for the respondent-driven survey (RDS) component of the study," the advert read.

What does the APHRC job entail?

Among the duties and responsibilities of the job are the identification and screening of RDS participants using standardised eligibility criteria.

They are also expected to obtain and document informed consent from study participants prior to the interviews.

Regarding qualifications, those interested in the job should have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate with a minimum grade of C Plain.

They need to be able to conduct quantitative interviews in both Swahili and English and have experience in data collection using electronic data capture platforms.

How does one apply for the APHRC job?

Those interested need to be available to work full-time on the project for the duration of the study and are expected to submit their application documents via email to cvs@flexipersonnel.com by January 2024.

"Interested candidates are invited to submit the above documents via email to cvs@flexi-personnel.com by 10th January 2024. Please indicate on the subject line of the email “Quantitative Field Interviewer- KAS project.” We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted," they added.

In their project, The Remaking of the Family in East Africa (FamilEA), they also have a similar vacancy for people strictly residing in Nairobi county.

Qatar Airways advertises jobs for Kenyans

In other news, Qatar Airways announced several vacancies, asking Kenyans to apply at their Nairobi branch.

In an advertisement on Monday, December 18, the airline said it was seeking to recruit cabin crew members for 2024.

The advertisement said the airline seeks to recruit highly motivated individuals to join the cabin crew and cabin services departments due to their ongoing expansion programme.

"As our global network continues to expand, we have exciting opportunities for talented individuals to join our award-winning Cabin Crew team. We are in search of highly motivated talent to deliver our legendary hospitality and world-class service, creating memorable customer experiences," the advert read.
