Kenyans have picked Jacky Vike, popularly known as Awinja, as their best female comedian of 2023 in a TUKO.co.ke Readers' Choice poll.

The poll listed content creators Cartoon Comedian Awinja, Mammito and Elsa Majimbo, but the former Papa Shirandula actress scooped the most votes.

The four ladies have had a successful 2023, releasing viral content and taking up new roles that earned them the top spot as unique creators.

For instance, Mammito secured a lucrative opportunity to grace the prestigious "African Night of Laughter" event in Doha, Qatar.

Awinja, on the other hand, was recently awarded the honorary Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) by President William Ruto during the Jamhuri celebrations.

On TUKO.co.ke's poll, netizens picked Awinja as their best entertainer of the year, while comedian Mammito followed closely.

Majimbo on losing followers for being rich

Elsewhere, comedienne Majimbo recently revealed that she lost over 200,000 followers because she started posting rich girl content.

She admitted that she understands most netizens do not like her content as a rich woman and would rather watch things about her broke days.

"I have evolved into the person I have always wanted to be. Into the person, you know, just rich, shopping, spa days, country clubs, that is the life I wanted, and that is the life I have built for myself," she said.
