Musician Karangu Muraya has raised KSh 1.2 million for a young man who was unable to relieve himself normally and had to use a catheter.

What is a catheter?

In a TikTok video, Isaac Mwaura KaFirst got involved in a boda boda accident in 2014, and I got affected and could not pass urine the correct way.

"My life has not been okay; I am in constant pain and walk around with a catheter. I have not been able to do much, but I believe that I will be okay one day," the makeup artist told TUKO.co.ke.

According to Healthline, a urinary catheter is a hollow, partially flexible tube that collects urine from the bladder and leads to a drainage bag. They come in many sizes and types.

Doctors operate on Mwaura 10 times

After 10 attempts in Kenya, Mwaura thought about travelling to India and asked netizens on TikTok to help him raise KSh 1.2 million and share the post widely. They shared as requested until it reached philanthropist Karangu Muraya, who offered to help him.

"Glory be to God, our brother will now travel to India for his 11th surgery...by the grace of God we have managed to support him with KSh 1.2 Million and I have promised by the grace of God, I will pay my ticket," said Muraya.

While at it, Muraya also offered to be his caregiver while he was getting his meds.

"I just to be treated and get well so that I can live a normal life like a man. Thank you Karangu for sharing my story so that I can get treatment, thank you to everyone, my followers thank you for sharing my story," said a tearful Mwaura.
"Thanks you to the people who have been supporting me, thank you for coming to my life," he continued on TikTok.
