A Kahawa Sukari boda boda rider who exposed a vendor after being arrested over fake number plates on his motorcycle has sadly passed away.

Simiyu had paid KSh 104k for the bike

Kelvin Simiyu shot into the limelight after he bought a boda boda from Jijenge shop in Kahawa Wendani and started paying for it in instalments.

"So far, he has paid KSh 104,000 for the second-hand loan motorcycle and was supposed to pay KSh 70,000 at a later date. He noticed this after trying to do a search for his new delivery company, and it showed the wrong number plate," said content creator Derrick Mbugua who accompanied him to go and confront the motorcycle-selling company on December 13.

Simiyu promised new motorbike

On December 14, Mbugua took to Facebook once again to decry the fact that the company was yet to give Simiyu a new number plate, despite them being given more time to bring the number plate and documents by the police.

"They have been looking for new documents from December 6 and the staff of the company was released on a cash bail," alleged Mbugua.
"The same boda boda bado has a tracker under the same company," added the content creator.

Mbugua also shared that Simiyu bought the motorcycle as a third owner so the previous person didn't know about the fake number plate.

"The insurance is insured on a different chases motorcycle which is KMFV 009N. Chases number BFDJA309145328680 while the motorcycle KMFV 009N chases number is reading *BFOJA3091HS328680*. This clearly means the insurance on this motocyle is wrong and the number plate is still wrong," said Mbugua.

The young man was promised anew bike but in case of anything, the company will be answerable...He was also told not to pay anything until the company sorts out the mess.

Simiyu passes away in an accident

Sadly, Simiyu did not live long enough to enjoy the new motorcycle.

According to content creator Derrick Mbugua, Simiyu passed away on December 25, 2023, following an accident at the Kahawa Sukari roundabout near Naivas Supermarket.

"I visited his young family this morning; Glorine Anyona and two- year-old-baby Ivyine Masika.I am so down good people, sorry to this family," said Mbugu on his Facebook wall.

Kenyans raise KSh 27k for boda boda rider

Elsewhere, Elly Achola asked help from Kenyans to pay a KSh 51,000 loan after his boda boda was repossessed.

The father of three who had welcomed a newborn, said he paid KSh 148,000 out of the KSh 199,000 required.
