The restaurant was located at Juja Square and was frequented by Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture And Technology (JKUAT) students and other customers in Juja town.

"My inspiration to start the restaurant was to open job opportunities for my fellow young people to enable positive growth in society. I believe in people growing together and supporting one another,” Kennar said during the launch.

Why Crazy Kennar shut down Instant Delicacies

However, barely two years after it became operational, it closed shop.

On January 20, the restaurant announced its withdrawal from its operations in Juja. Kennar explained that he may taken the wrong investment option.

"My mistake was getting money from content creation and investing it in a restaurant business. It was a good idea. However, starting such a business requires you to be fully present."

The comedian hinted that mismanagement of the facility led to its closure even though it made profits.

In an interview with Phil Karanja, he said juggling between shooting content and managing the business was difficult.

"Many entrepreneurs make the mistake of diversifying too early with the hope of better success. However, most end up failing," he explained.

Which other businesses owned by celebrities closed?

Radio 47's Alex Mwakideu closed his business ventures in Kitengela in January.

The veteran radio presenter announced that Pampered Rides and Pampered Village were no longer operating.

Elsewhere, Kez's Kitchen, which was established by Sauti Sol's Chimano and his friend Phidi Mwatibo, shut down due to the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
