Comedian and actor Steven Oduor, aka DJ Shiti, has criticised fellow comedian Gilbert Baraza, aka Mtumishi, for disclosing private family matters in public and, in the process, bashing his mother.

DJ Shiti on Mtumishi's rant

According to Shiti, no matter the problems Mtumishi and his mother faced, his actions were not right.

"Juzi kuna kitendo niliona na sikupenda kabisaa. Kuna kijana niliona alienda kwa hizi kanisa ambazo zimekuja sikuhizi an akapewa mic akaanza kuingilia mamake mzazi...anaitwa nani...Mtumishi....hiyo kitendo niliona ikiwa kitendo ya kipumbavu sana," he said.

Shiti added that some of the things Mtumishi was complaining about were, in his view, childish.

"Halafu ukirudi uangalie vitu ambazo analalamikia, ni vitu za kipumbavu sana...eti alifukuzwa kwa nyumba akitaka kwenda Churchill. By the time tunafanya Churchill show sisi ni watu wazima kabisa, unafanya nini home?" Shiti elaborated.

The creative explained that several people had strained relationships with their kin and had experienced far worse issues, but none of them went on air to reveal them.

According to Shiti, Mtumishi had no right to embarrass his mother publicly.

"Vitu alikuwa anaongea si worth kuenda pale kuchomea mzazi wake," he said.

He gave an example of children sending their parents funds to build houses only to find out that all the money had been spent on booze.

Mtumishi says he hates his mother

Two weeks ago, Mtumishi expressed his hatred for his mother and claimed that he wouldn't miss her even if she died during a Testimony session in church.

He also revealed that he had not spoken to her in two years and had ignored her calls and messages.

"Let me just speak the truth. My mother...even if she dies today, I won't feel anything. As a child, you might miss your mother and feel the urge to visit her; for the last two years, I have not talked with her. I don't pick up her calls. I have messages and missed calls in my phone I can show," Mtumishi said in a video shared on TikTok by Viumax TV.

According to Mtumishi, his mother played him dirty, including ruining his marriage because she didn't like his wife. He even accused her of using witchcraft to destroy the union.
