Tana River - Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked Governor Dhadho Godhana to ditch Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party to benefit from the fruits of the government.

During the flagging of humanitarian support to families affected by El Nino at Garden, Tana River county, Gachagua said it would be hard for Godhana to get support from the government unless he joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Gachagua says Raila cannot help Tana River

According to Gachagua, ODM leader Raila Odinga will not offer any help to Azimio la Umoja governors battling El Nino rains.

The second in command said most of the things Godhana was asking are offered when one sits at the government table.

“Everything you are asking, for now, can be offered when you sit at the government table, Raila has nothing to offer you with the food crisis, in fact, he also needs our help…now a person who is looking for help, can you knock on his door for assistance?” Gachagua said.

The deputy president further warned the Tana River governor against making a political mistake by supporting the former prime minister in 2027.

According to Gachagua, President William Ruto is still the favourite to win the 2027 presidential race.

”I urge the governor and the people of Tana River to please have foresight and change your position in 2027 because you have been planting without harvest,” he added.

Why Gachagua wants Samburu to dump Raila

Elsewhere, the deputy president urged residents of Samburu to shun their support for the opposition and throw their weight behind Ruto come 2027, when Kenyans will head to the ballot to elect new leaders.

Speaking at a church service and fundraiser ceremony at St. Francis the Xavier in Baragoi town on Sunday, December 3, Gachagua warned the congregation against throwing away their votes in the forest by voting for Raila.

"When the time comes to plan, do your calculations well. Don't throw your vote into the forest. Place your vote where leadership will be found. We have done the political math, and William Ruto will be there," he said.
