The heartbroken man narrated his side of the story, detailing what transpired a few hours before their wedding.
"Kulikua na maneno imetokea Nelly alisema tumpee time jaauu hakua ready to take on the roles of being a wife. Tukianza na Nelly nilimpenda sana hadi nikamleta kwetu tukafanya koito. Nelly said we should give her time; she wasn't ready to take on the responsibilities of being a wife. When we started dating, I loved her so much that I brought her to our home, and we built a life together. We shared the little things I had. We were doing well, and there was nothing she was complaining about)," he said.
Adding:
"So for there were things she was hiding, and she was not saying them. We went for koito (traditional wedding), show up to her church and my church. Until Thursday, the last minute when were in Bomet she wrote a message. She wrote to the Reverend, and he called us on Friday. I did not know anything. We had planned everything. So on Friday, they called us and told us she had someone else, and that is how the wedding was cancelled. We had planned thinking everything was okay."

Nelly's dad blames reverend for failed wedding
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reached out to Reverend Charles Koskei, who said he was baffled by rumours that his daughter had cancelled her wedding.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Nelly's father said:
"The reverend is the one who cancelled the wedding claiming the courtship period was short."
Mr Koskei said he was not angry after the wedding cancellation, encouraging his daughter that all would be well. He claimed the reverend who was to officiate the wedding said they had not submitted some documents.
"He said they postponed the wedding and we will be holding a meeting next week. He said the couple had not filled out some forms and not submitted their parents' IDs photocopies," he explained.
