The Cabinet Secretary for Roads, Transport, and Public Works, Kipchumba Murkomen, has celebrated a significant milestone in his son’s life.
When was Murkomen's son circumcised?
On Saturday, December 16, the politician’s family and friends gathered for a ceremony celebrating his son’s circumcision.
The celebration, rooted in the Kalenjin traditional beliefs, is essential as it signifies the transition into manhood.

Images shared online depicted a sharply Murkomen alongside his wife, Gladys.
Murkomen wore a dark suit, white shirt and red tie. He completed the look with a black cowboy hat and walking stick.
His wife donned a traditional red dress with white accents.
Murkomen disclosed that the ceremony was held to honour several young men, writing:
“Another milestone. Congratulations to the young men.”
Kenyans reacted to the images by writing:
@KeKirwa:
“Where are the young men?”
@hezron_bz:
“They are now real men. Tell them how the society is cruel to broke and weak men.”
@mlumatete1:
“What is the meaning of this cane, and what is its origin?”
How long is Murkomen's marriage?
On Tuesday, December 12, Murkomen celebrated his wedding anniversary in style. The politician posted a throwback photo from his wedding.
Murkomen looked unrecognisable as he wore a baggy African-inspired outfit for the ceremony. He complemented the white and maroon shirt with black trousers.
Next to him was his lovely bride wearing a gorgeous white gown with maroon accents.
The two were in high spirits during the church wedding, as Wanjiru held a bouquet. Kipchumba disclosed that they had been married for over 14 years.
“Happy anniversary to us. I love you, Gladys Wanjiru Kipchumba, and thank you for everything. Cheers to many more years ahead,” he captioned the image.
“At least your wife wasn't Nelly, who dumped the groom days before the wedding,” reacted one Kenyan.
