Kiambu - A man from Migori was arrested after allegedly impersonating Justice William Ouko, a Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya.
The man, Oduor Leakey Amolloh, reportedly obtained money from unsuspecting Kenyans under false pretence.
"Amolloh was arrested on December 8, 2023, in Migori County and presented before the Court on December 11, 2023, under Miscellaneous Criminal Application No E472/2023. The DCI asked for, and the court granted them three days to complete their investigation hence his appearance today," read a statement by the Judiciary.

According to court papers, Justice Ouko received an alert that a mobile number, 0728 494 058, claiming to be his, was being used to con Kenyans under the guise that he could influence public employment.
"Using Justice Ouko's name, he also solicited and received money from unsuspecting victims. The Judge made a report to the police, and upon recording a statement, investigations commenced," said the Judiciary.
What orders did court give in Amolloh's case
The papers further revealed that investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) got intelligence from Awendo area that there were complaints against the respondent.
DCI established that five people in various parts of the country have fallen victim to his schemes.
The police also sought court orders to enable them to search his residences in Nairobi, Kakamega, and Migori to recover any relevant exhibits.
Following an application, the court ordered that he be detained in the custody of the DCI for a final period of 3 days to allow them to conclude their investigations.
The court further directed the DCI to prosecute him at Kisumu Law Courts on Tuesday, December 19 2023.
Narok police interdicted over impersonation
On Thursday, December 15, police arrested five suspects masquerading as Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials in Narok Town as they terrorised businessmen dealing in the liquor enterprise.
The five included Davis Muindi Simiyu, a notorious senior police officer currently on interdiction facing five cases bordering on impersonation in various courts.
Others are Leah Wanjiku, Ann Wagio, Thomas Mwangi and their gang leader, Police Inspector Urbanus Kioko.
The five harassed liquor shop owners over alleged failure to comply with KRA requirements and demanded hefty bribes to which they threatened to shut down their businesses.
