Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Sharon's mother, said her daughter, who left behind her four-year-old girl, fasted and prayed one last time.

"Before she passed on, she had told her friends no one would eat that day. They were going to pray and fast until evening. They prayed and fasted, and at around 6:30pm, Sharon closed the session with a word of prayer and scripture," she said.

Covering Sharon with bedsheet

Sharon then asked her friends who stood with her in the spiritual moment to cover her with a bedsheet.

They obeyed, and around 7:30pm, Sharon, who was sick, started breathing heavily and eventually passed on.

"I got the news a day after she died. One of her friends visited me and delivered the heartbreaking news in my house," Khamadi, who lives in Kibera, said.

Running away from Saudi boss

Khamadi noted her late daughter had spent less than a year in Saudi Arabia, where she thought she would turn her life around.

She had run away from her boss after six months, citing that her employer mercilessly mistreated her.

Kisii woman infected with HIV

In a different story, a Kisii woman said a one-night affair cost her Saudi Arabia job.

Vanice Bosibori blamed her male friend for her deportation from Saudi Arabia due to what transpired between them.

She believed her friend infected her with HIV, which was not captured in her medical records in Kenya until she did another test in Saudi Arabia.

The Kisii mum only clarified her medical issue in Kenya when she went to a friend who had lots of HIV self-testing kits.

She took the bold step to test herself to find out about her status and was heartbroken after the positive results.
