Njugush Throws Hilarious Shade At Jua Cali After He Belittled His Comedy: "Akona Album, Umeiskia?"

Comedian Blessed Njugush has hit back at Jua Cali over his remarks about his style of comedy earlier this year.

In July, musician Juacali slammed Njugush, saying that while he likes him as a person, he does not think what he does is comedy.

"Njugush ni boy wangu but hakuna comedian hapo not funny at all," he said at the time.

The sentiments ignited a heated online debate, with several netizens coming to Njugush's defence.

Njugush revisited the issue during an interview on the Mic Cheque Podcast on December 10.

Njugush's thoughts on Jua Cali's snide remarks

He took a swipe at Jua Cali, saying that the singer was trying to promote an album he had just released around the same time he dissed him.

The funnyman then asked the show's hosts whether they had heard of the album or its tracks, implying that it had been a flop.

"Hiyo time Jua Cali alikuwa anaoongea hivo unajua kuna album alikuwa anapush. Umeiskia?" he asked the podcasters who all went silent.

Njugush advised them never to forget their haters, saying he never does and instead uses the hate to motivate him.

"I'm not being petty..hii singeacha islide.....kwanza tunaenda msimu wa kusameheana... but never let it slide and it should fuel you," he said.

He explained that such experiences give him thick skin such that when he encounters an even worse situation in future and remembers how he came out on top of the previous one, he is not shaken.

Njugush added that he believes in Karma; when something like Jua Cali's album flopping happens, he sees it as poetic justice.

Jua Cali apologises to Njugush

Meanwhile, after facing intense criticism for bashing Njugush, Jua Cali apologised to the comic.

The musician made a U-turn on his previous statement, noting that his remarks were wrong and uncalled for.

Jua Cali said that as a veteran, he needed to spread love to young creatives rather than pinning them down with his words.
