Eric Wamumbi, the Member of Parliament for Mathira Constituency in Nyeri County, has pledged to cover the high school fees for a young promising girl from his area.

In a post on his Facebook page, the MP indicated that he was committed to supporting the young girl's education.

"Just as I said, I will pay her four years of school fees," he wrote, emphasizing his dedication to fostering education and nurturing young leaders within the community.

Apart from academic achievement, Wamuyu has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities as a Scout Leader.

Wamuyu comes from humble home

She caught the MP's attention during an event at the school last month based on her confidence as she led her fellow scouts.

Wamumbi learned that Wamuyu is the daughter of a single mother from Karatina town and is bright but needy.

Before leaving the event, he promised to pay her entire secondary school fees if she managed 400 marks, something that came to pass.

Public reactions

Ken Nduati:

"Congratulations to her. She stands a chance of even doing better in high school. I wish her nothing less than success in her academics at the next level."

Gibson Wambugu:

"Education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world. Good job, my brother."

Haki Mwari Wa Gathirwah:

"Congratulations, this is an amazing public school. May the girl shine and Eric Wamumbi MP Mathira abarikiwe."

Well-wisher pays Vivian's fees

In a different story, Daddy Owen visited Vivian at her parents' home in Siaya and learnt that her biggest dream was to wear shoes just like other girls.

There was one problem, though; Vivian had been struggling with clubfoot condition.

The musician highlighted the young woman's plight on social media, and she was assisted through his foundation and @curekenya.

A few months later, a Good Samaritan gave Vivian another reason to smile after offering to pay her school fees for the entire year.
