TikTok prankster Mizzy

Every TikToker is expected to practise responsible content creation within the bounds of the law. But that wasn’t the case with Mizzy, a famous TikToker who violated the content creation law, not once but twice. Even after being warned about posting prank videos without people's consent, TikTok prankster Mizzy still did it, forcing the court to send him to jail.

Mizzy, whose real name is Bacari-Bronze O'Garro, appeared at Stratford Magistrates' Court in November 2023, where he was sent to a young offenders' institution for 18 weeks. So, how many times does Mizzy gets arrested, and is he still in jail?

Who is Mizzy?

TikToker Mizzy, real name Bacari-Bronze O'Garro, is a 19-year-old and a father of one. Before his arrest and sentencing, Bacari-Bronze was doing a creative media production course at a sixth-form college and had just started a waiter job in a restaurant.

Why was Mizzy jailed?

Mizzy, a 19-year-old, was found guilty of two counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order. After his first trial, the court banned him from sharing people's videos without their approval. He "deliberately flouted" the order within hours of it being passed on 24th May.

In one of the offending Mizzy's pranks, passers-by were seen in the background, and Mizzy said, "The UK law is a joke."

In November 2023, at Stratford Magistrates Court, Bacari-Bronze received sentencing from Judge Matthew Bone, who unequivocally stated, "Mizzy pranks lack humour." Consequently, Mizzy was handed an 18-week detention term within a young offender institution.

Is Mizzy in jail?

Currently, Mizzy is undergoing an 18-week detention period within a young offenders' institution. The decision to incarcerate the 19-year-old, who is also a father, in a juvenile facility has sparked online discussions, with some contending that the penal system lacks suitability and that the seemingly unrepentant offender was given leniency.

In response to these debates, Ernest Aduwa, Partner at Stokoe Partnership Solicitor, clarified to MailOnline that Mizzy's 18-week term in the youth system aligns with the intended operation of the penal system.

Aduwa emphasized that young offenders' institutions are not inherently less restrictive than adult prisons; instead, they serve as distinct facilities, separating individuals under 21 from their adult counterparts.
