President William Ruto has announced that Hollywood will soon start shooting movies in Kenya through a partnership with the Grammy Awards.

Speaking during the Jamhuri Day celebrations on Tuesday, December 12, at Nairobi's Uhuru Gardens, the head of state said the project will start in January 2024.
"The famous Grammy Awards have a partnership with us, and starting January, the Innovation Studios of Hollywood have agreed to start shooting multiple movie rights here in Kenya," he declared.

He added that children in primary and secondary schools would also benefit from a coding program courtesy of the giant multinational technology company, Google.
"Google, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and ICT, has begun implementing a Kenyan Institute of Curriculum education-sponsored coding program in primary and secondary schools to reach four million children," he started.
Content creators to earn on Facebook, Instagram
Further, Ruto revealed that Kenyan content creators would start earning a living by producing original content on Facebook and Instagram.
The president announced that Meta had run a pilot programme with eligible Kenyans.
"Meta committed to helping creators earn money in Kenya for crafting original content following a pilot programme with eligible creators in the country. Meta will be expanding monetisation opportunities and allowing more creators to earn a living doing what they love," Ruto disclosed.
Since he took office in 2022, the president has been making several trips abroad, where he has inked several deals.
Ruto promises 200k German opportunities for Kenyans
For instance, he recently visited Berlin, Germany, for the G20 Compact with Africa Conference.
During his European visit, Ruto promised to secure more than 200,000 Kenyans job opportunities.
Speaking in Bomet County on Sunday, November 19, after his trip, Ruto reiterated that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz agreed to offer 250,000 skilled and semi-skilled Kenyans work visas.
"The German chancellor was in Kenya a few months ago, and I am flying to Germany because he promised employment opportunities for 200,000 Kenyans, and I have to go organise for that," said Ruto.
