The family of the young Kalenjin boy who wowed Kenyans with his impressive reporting skills is now set to receive a lovely new house built with a well-wisher's help.
Elvis Langat, a nine-year-old, became an internet sensation a few months ago after a clip of him eloquently introducing his family and pledging to take care of them when he grows up emerged.
Alfred Koech, who started an online fundraiser for the family, visited the family on Wednesday, December 20, to check on the progress of the house being built for Elvis and his family.
Koech said the young boy's family will soon be able to move into the new home as the construction process is now in the final stages.

"I inspected the project that we undertook as an online community to build a house for their family. The progress is good, now at the finishing stages. Once again, thank you for standing with the family when they needed us. To Ian, I wish you the very best as you progress to the next stage," he said.
When did Elvis go viral?
When Elvis first went viral, his family was living in a dilapidated mud-walled structure and were also struggling to stay afloat.
His siblings expressed the family's challenges and heartfelt desires, especially to their loving parents.
Their prayer was to build their caring parents a new house as a token of appreciation for their sacrifice, love and hard work.
Kenyans raised money on Facebook, and in a few weeks, the family will be living in better conditions than before.
Elvis Langat's viral clip
As reported, the little boy stunned Kenyans with his incredibly flawless reporting skills as he introduced his family.
The young man confidently identified his family members by name, including his father, mother and siblings.
In his video, he said:
"I was the first in class. I was usually sixth but came to number one. They (Parents) pay us school fees, and we thank them. I will take care of them the way they care for us. This is my father, he's called Samuel Koech, and this is my mum, she is called Teresia Koech. This is the lastborn, and she is called Linda Cheroo."
