The IG spoke on Thursday, December 14, at the National Police College 'A' Campus in Embakasi, Nairobi, during the police and prison commemorative service for fallen heroes.
Why Japhet Koome criticised junior police officers
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki led officers from the National Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service in the annual Joint Commemorative Service honoring officers killed in the brave execution of duty.
Koome took issue with junior police officers who misappropriated their salaries and savings.
"In January 2023, there are some officers who graduated from Kiganjo but if you meet them today are driving luxurious cars they bought from loans simply because they want to scare me away. Kindly stop it," Koome added.
