Raila donates KSh 500k during church service
In September 2023, the former prime minister gave out KSh 500,000 as offerings and pledged to support a Kisii church in building a modern structure.
While handing over the offering in a brown envelope, Raila said he would be back later to support the church in a fundraiser to buy land for that catholic church.
The former prime minister further donated KSh 100,000 to the church's choir, which he said should be used to buy shoes for the choir.
Similarly, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who accompanied Raila, gave out KSh 100,000, Kisii governor Simba Arati KSh 150,000, and Governor Gladys Wanga gave out KSh 50,000.
Raila buys land for Makueni woman
Elsewhere, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader also bought land and built a house for a Makueni woman whose son was killed during demos.
Raila disclosed that he learned of the death of 18-year-old Brian Mwendwa through his friend from Makueni, identified as John Kiema.
The ODM leader said they had bought land and built a house for the bereaved family in Makueni to ensure the mother has somewhere to call home.
